About Herb Tandree Philosophy Books
We are a specialist bookseller in the history of philosophy, both of the Western and the Eastern tradition. We also sell new books in the humanities. We stock over 12,000 second-hand titles, and list over 12,000 new titles, both listings continue to increase in number.
Our experience in selling books extends back over 25 years. Herb Tandree Philosophy Books was formed at the end of 2001, with much of the second-hand stock coming from Thoemmes Antiquarian Books, a partnership of Herb Tandree and Rachel Lee (1999-2001). Before this both parties worked for Thoemmes Antiquarian Books, Ltd., owned by Rudi Thoemmes. Rachel Lee now owns Rachel Lee Rare Books with concentration on philosophy - antiquarian, rare, out-of-print, but also encompasses theology, economics, sociology, psychology, and science http://www.rachelleerarebooks.co.uk
Periodically Herb Tandree Philosophy Books issues e-lists of aspects of the stock, or, upon request these can be sent as paper lists in the post.
Visitors are Welcome at our Premises - The book rooms are located in a converted wool mill on the river Frome in the old mill town of Stroud, Goucestershire, in the south Cotswolds. Clients are advised to call first in order to make sure that we are open – normally, we are open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
