Created in 1999 with the merger of the Cassell academic and religious lists and The Continuum Publishing Company in New York we are a new company, but with deep roots in publishing. Our team has worked for some of the biggest and best names in the publishing industry and beyond. They bring a wealth of experience and are helping us to create our own unique culture.
We are an academic, religious and trade publisher, producing over 500 books a year, written by authors who are acknowledged experts in their chosen fields. We have an active backlist of over 6,000 titles.
We publish for the market in those fields in which we feel we can make the most valid contribution to learning, scholarship and research. Our publishing programme is focussed on the humanities, in the fields of philosophy, film and music, literature, education, linguistics, theology and biblical studies.
